Katrina Victims May Have To pay Back Grants

How is this possible? The victims did not steal the money, the government hired contractors who overestimated the grants, so now they want to sue vicitms? I guess with the economy in the mess that it is in, they will do anything to get some money back.

Absolutely appalling & disgusting that the government would allow even MORE injustice to be done.

It is appalling they have to sue them, why won't the people just give the overpayment back. I would.

I guess that depends on your calculation of what a person is eligible to receive. Just because the government keeps changing the rules for benefits for flood victims, does that mean some are getting overpayment? Or does it mean some are getting underpayment, but now we need to go back and make it even.

No matter how you slice it, nobody's getting rich off this--at least not the victims--just the politically connected companies like KBR and ICF.

Peace,

Tim

It's all the same companies and people, and don't forget Blackwater, the private army for hire, which also operates in the US for the US govt,, the same as Iraq, Americans getting screwed, esp, Americans who are middle and lower class. It must've been nice to have been born with a silver spoon and to never be accountable for anything in this world.
