IRS May Sell Tax Data To Marketers

How can this be legal? Isn't anything private anymore? If we are expected to pay to government we should also expect that our financial information is kept private. Imagine th abuses that can occur from this. The IRS says that they would sek consent frome each individual in order to use their information in this way, but the average person barely understands the tax process the way it is. There is no need for this.
